October's over??

Boy, it's amazing how fast time flies when you're having fun. Here are the highlights:

* Went to Clifford's 20th High School Reunion (he's getting old!) It was fun to finally meet some of the characters he talks about.

* Took the Texas teaching test - an all-day affair where you basically have to be strip-searched to take it. You can't even take in a water bottle that has a label! Does that give you a hint as to how paranoid they are here AND how serious they take this testing stuff? I haven't experienced the actual TAKS test they put our students through, but I'm sure it'll be just as crazy.

* Laura & Tiana came to visit. My first company in TX and we had lots of late night chats & fashion shows. It was fun to share some of the sights around here and to have them spend some time at the ranch. We had real Texas BBQ & iced tea - can't get any more southern than that!

* Spent 3 wonderful days at Georgetown & Mom, Sara, Aunt Lequice, & LaCretia drove from NM to visit at Georgetown. It was fun to spend a few days with them and Davina & family.

* It finally broke 90 as a high - as in we finally had days that weren't over 90. It's now too cold to swim and my 'light' sweaters were pulled out of storage - anyone want some heavy, wool sweaters?

* Alligators were found at Clifford's hay field (twice). Not sure where they came from or how large they are, but we saw one in the canal and at least one in the pond. There might be more, we weren't too adventurous to go stomping around for more. One is at least 5' long!

* Here's my 'Guard Spider' - it takes out unwary visitors who try to walk in/out of my garage. He makes a huge web every night outside my garage & the web gets destroyed when I open the garage door. I'm not sure why he doesn't find a safer spot. His current victims are Clifford, Laura, & Tiana.

That is a nasty spider. Cool on the alligators! Have you been to Brazos Bend State Park? They used to have tons...
